Chapter 6 - THE AURORA ABOVE THE ATLANTICThe private medical suite at the Vascari Private Hospital in Capri was quiet, lit only by the soft, warm glow of bedside lamps. Outside the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the night sky was clear, filled with millions of glittering stars reflecting off the calm waters of the sea.

Roman sat on the edge of the wide hospital bed, holding a tiny, soft bundle wrapped in a pale blue cashmere blanket.

He had not slept for twenty-four hours, but there was no fatigue in his eyes—only a profound, overwhelming wonder that made his hands tremble as he looked down at the tiny human resting in his arms.

The baby had soft, dark hair, olive skin, and tiny fingers that were currently tightly curled around Roman’s pinky finger.

Aurora lay against the white pillows, looking tired but utterly radiant, watching her husband with a warmth that filled the entire room.

“You haven't put him down for three hours, Roman,” Aurora murmured gently, a soft smile curving her lips.

Roman didn't look up; he was completely mesmerized, watching the baby let out a tiny, soft sigh in his sleep.

“He’s perfect, Aurora,” Roman whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “Look at his hands. He has your hands.”

Roman carefully leaned over and laid the baby gently against Aurora’s chest. He sat on the edge of the mattress, wrapping his arms around both of them, resting his head against Aurora’s shoulder.

For a long time, neither of them spoke. The quiet rhythm of the baby’s breathing was the sweetest symphony either of them had ever heard.

“What are we going to name him?” Roman asked softly, looking up into her eyes.

Aurora reached down, running her thumb gently over the baby’s soft cheek.

“Lorenzo,” she said quietly. “Lorenzo Roman Vascari.”

Roman’s breath caught in his throat. Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at his wife. To name their son after his late brother—the man whose memory had been honored and cleared of all tragedy—was the ultimate gift of healing for his family.

“Lorenzo,” Roman repeated, the name tasting like sweet victory and peace on his tongue. “It’s perfect.”

A quiet knock sounded at the door. Marcus stepped into the room softly, holding a secure satellite phone.

“Pardon the interruption, Mr. and Mrs. Vascari,” Marcus said in a hushed, respectful tone. “The legal team has just finalized the absolute dissolution of the Duca Maritime holding company. The assets have been successfully transferred into the new Lorenzo Vascari Foundation for Marine Preservation.”

Roman nodded once. “Thank you, Marcus. Close the doors. No more business calls for the next month.”

“Understood, sir,” Marcus smiled, bowing his head before quietly closing the door behind him.

Aurora leaned her head against Roman’s chest, watching the stars twinkling through the window over the vast Atlantic and Mediterranean waters.

Three months ago, her world had been defined by hidden lies, secret threats, and the cold isolation of a political marriage. She had believed that power was something used to control, to manipulate, and to defend against betrayal.

Now, looking at the man holding her close, feeling the steady heartbeat of her son against her chest, she knew what real power was.

It was not found in shipping fleets, multi-billion-dollar mergers, or grand family titles.

It was found right here—in the quiet, fierce, and unbreakable bond of a family that had survived the darkest storm and emerged into the light of a new dawn.

Roman reached out, his warm fingers weaving through hers, his lips pressing a soft, lingering kiss against her forehead.

“I love you, Aurora,” Roman whispered into the quiet room—the first time he had ever spoken those three words aloud.

Aurora looked up into his eyes, seeing her entire future reflected in his gaze.

“I love you too, Roman,” she replied softly. “Welcome home.”

Outside, high above the quiet waters of the ocean, the night sky seemed to shimmer with a rare, brilliant green glow—a magnificent northern light dancing across the horizon, illuminating the path forward for the king, the queen, and the child who had changed everything.
