Chapter 10 - The Legacy ReclaimedThe annual Global Business Leadership Summit in Manhattan was the grandest gathering of financial powerhouses in North America. Over two thousand executives filled the grand hall of the glass convention center.

Sitting in the front row was the elite board of Moretti Global.

The announcer stepped up to the podium, tapping the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen, it is my privilege to present this year's International Business Leader of the Year Award to a woman who restructured one of the largest logistics networks in the world while launching the Moretti Foundation for Domestic Violence Survivors..."

The crowd broke into thunderous applause.

"Please welcome... Elena Moretti!"

I stood up gracefully, smoothing down my tailored black silk suit. Dominic, Luca, Matteo, Gabriel, and Nico stood up beside me, clapping proudly, their eyes shining with fierce pride.

I walked up the carpeted stairs to the stage, taking the heavy crystal trophy from the presenter. I stepped up to the podium, looking out over the sea of powerful men and women applauding in my honor.

Among the crowd, near the back exit, I caught sight of a familiar face—Richard Cole, wearing a cheap, faded suit, standing near the security doors where he now worked as an assistant maintenance worker.

He was staring up at me on that stage, his eyes filled with profound regret and silent shame.

I looked away from him, turning my focus back to the microphone.

"Thank you," I said, my voice carrying clearly through every speaker in the massive auditorium. "Four years ago, someone told me that I came from nothing. They told me I should be grateful just to sit at their table."

The room went dead quiet as everyone listened intently.

"They tried to break me," I continued, a confident, radiant smile breaking across my face. "They tried to make me believe that my silence was weakness. But what they failed to realize is that true strength isn't built on arrogance or cruel power. True strength is born when you survive the darkest night of your life, stand up, and build a light so bright that no shadow can ever touch you again."

The entire audience erupted into a standing ovation, echoing through the massive hall.

I held the trophy high, my head raised, stepping into the brilliant spotlights.
